Do you eat enough fruits and vegetables? I don’t. Although I have my protein pretty much under control now, my fibers intake could definitely be better. That’s why I decided to give a go to the JUST FRUIT & VEG range of Nuzest.

What’s the concept?

It’s a powder you mix with water, to get a tasty and healthy plant protein smoothie. It’s only real food inside, with natural flavors. Each serve is 5 fruits, 5 vegetables, and golden pea protein. Nuzest JUST FRUIT & VEG comes in 3 flavors: Wild Berry, Cacao Mint, and Fresh Coconut.

You can get this magic powder on Nuzest’s website, in uni-dose sachets or a slightly bigger pouch, containing 10 serves.

Their JUST FRUIT & VEG taster pack is probably the best way to try it out. You get a cute little box with 1 sachet of each flavor and a little shaker (perfect size on the go!) + some samples to try out some other Nuzest products and flavors.

For those counting calories and macros, one serving of JUST FRUIT & VEG (25g) is only 92 calories: 13.5g protein, 5.1g carbohydrate, 1.8g fat.

The taste test

I love berries, so I didn’t want to alter the Wild Berry‘s taste by any mean. That’s why I only mixed it with almond milk and some ice. The berries taste is definitely here and tastes really good! The almond milk was probably a good choice as berries can have a bit of a sour aftertaste, but the almond milk totally “softens” it.

Everybody who knows me knows that I love anything mint-chocolate. So I was looking forward to trying out the Cacao Mint flavor, As I wanted something a bit thicker this time, I mixed the sachet with a bit of regular milk (1/2 cup), low-fat Greek yogurt (1/2 cup) and a handful of ice. Sadly, I’ve been a been disappointed by this one, but probably my fault. As the label says it’s cacao and not chocolate with mint. So I guess I expected something a bit sweeter than it actually is. A sweet touch like banana or dates could probably solve that.

I threw the Fresh Coconut sachet’s content in the blender with collagen powder, a handful of frozen berries, half of a frozen banana, water, and ice. The berries gave a lovely purple color to the smoothie and it got a thicket texture from banana, collagen, and ice. But all those ingredients didn’t mask the tasty coconut flavor.

So the Wild Berry was my winner but of course, it all depends on your own taste! What I can say for sure is that the JUST FRUIT & VEG range is definitely worth a try and it’s a simple, natural, easy and tasty way to get your fruit and veg and your proteins. The single serving sachets are a massive plus, making them an amazing option when busy life gets in the way, at the office, or on the go, especially with their small size shaker!
